“Theatro tou Dromou” draws its first inspiration from the last days of a future suicide. A window covered with newspapers, handwritten notes, photographs, testimonies, a globe in a cesspool, psychiatric hospitals, improvisations on the street, laughter and screams, perpetrators and victims lead Eleni Fotaki to the first sentences of a verse. Between the phrases there is a person, but also there is not… When she finishes, she sends the verse to Giannis. But she sends it without his “biography”, without explanations. He proceeds, almost immediately, to set it to music and through it leads the trapped shadow of the verse in a redemptive, almost blissful, spiral. Later, intuitions and thoughts intersect.

Two musicians are added to the creative team. Rehearsals and parties follow, culminating in a live recording. Thus, the result is “Θέατρο του Δρόμου”, an almost cinematic song that lets its central figure come out of the frame whistling, only to eventually disappear in an unknown direction…
